IS THIS A Schiaparelli? OR A WEISS? OR A HASKELL? HOW CAN YOU KNOW?

Recently a colleague sent me photos of this blog. She has this fabulous vintage brooch she considers to be an Schiaparelli in May, but it is signed. While it has been said here and there were many unsigned pieces by Schiaparelli, it is true that it is difficult to know if you are looking for an authentic piece or not. The same goes for many designers vintage. For example, it is true that all parties have signed Weiss. Some have said the same thing by Miriam Haskell. So how on earth can we know?

The misfortune is that this situation led to a proliferation of counterfeits. Most of us looking for vintage jewelry first glance at the signature on the back of the room. For many designers, this signature will be either a cartridge or oval earrings, stamped right on the clips themselves.
It is therefore imperative that anyone looking to buy vintage jewelry to become familiar with authentic signatures.

A place where you can rotate, which is a wonderful resource is the search site of jewelry. You can see the designers and brands in alphabetical order, there are many photos and signatures to help. This is a site I like and you should find that you refer to often. But keep in mind one thing: those who sell counterfeit cartridges vendors May also be the designer of the signature in them. And if you do not buy in person, May you not noticed that the cartridge seems that was welded on the action, or the weld is ignored, or the signature is blurry and off center until you have the room. But now, my friend the song above. It is not signed, but it looks like a Schiaparelli. It has a big lava rock, and it seemed she liked well done. After being captured, I dare not take a decision thereon. I do not know enough about the drawings of Schiaparelli. But there are experts, collectors who are very familiar with the different designers and can usually tell if it is a Schiaparelli are not.
