If you collect vintage designer jewelry, you know the genuine leading designers such as Miriam Haskell, Elsa Schiaparelli, Schreiner, and it is investment. They are also expensive!
So it hurts like hell when you suddenly discover that the part you bought, thinking it was a designer of vintage jewelry is a fake or not entirely original. This happened to me twice in recent months and in both cases, the question was purchased on eBay or through an eBay seller.
In the case, I will talk here, I think the seller was not aware any more than I do, that the bracelet, he sold me was not totally Miriam Haskell. Why? Because the group has a genuine oval Miriam Haskell cartridge with his name engraved on it as you can see from the photo (Click photo to enlarge)
But I woke up too late: when I received the bracelet, I did not know that many of Miriam Haskell as I have learned since. As I looked at the workmanship, I noticed that the wiring protrudingTop rhinestones. That would have immediately alerted someone knows better than I was Haskell at this point. I also noticed how the son looked on the merits. It looked messy. I think it strange for someone like Miriam Haskell, but only the cartridge with his name. I let go, he thought maybe just a little early which is not as good as what came later. Today I know better: Haskell has gone to great lengths to hide his son. He never finished jewelry like that!
