Back in 1982, when my children were 2 and 6 months, my husband and I took them with us in Acapulco. Brave, do not you think? Well, all went well until the last 48 hours, but I’ll tell you another time.
What I want in my blog here is that the beautiful silver bracelet in the photo that is currently for sale on my web site at VINTAGE JEWELRY SHOWCASE. During this trip, the end of an evening where we put the children to sleep and her husband said he would stay with them, I ventured out into the street in front of our hotel. The street was teeming with tourists and vendors .. not sure what it was over. Well, I was not 50 feet from the entrance to the hotel where I was nailed seller of jewelry he had to show me. Most of the bracelets, we have all kinds. All this is very nice, but I did not really in the mood to buy anything. But he would not resign. I continued to resist until he suddenly took out a product identical to the picture. I fell in love with it immediately and unfortunately for me, he knew it. And so the haggling began at $ 300! Slowly, he lowered the price I kept the resistance. He pulled out the other bracelets, saying that if I did not want to pay what it is, I must take one of the other. This has more than half an hour and I started getting tired. Finally I looked into his eyes dug into my pocket and pulled the bill, the coins I had. It amounted to about $ 6. I told him I did. He looked at me in disbelief and shook his head “no way Senora.” I turned around and said “sorry that’s all I” and began walking to my hotel. Suddenly he was in front of me. “Ok, Ok,” he said. That was the best I’ve ever spent $ 6.
I wore the bracelet everywhere when I got back home. Everywhere I went people asked me about it. It was so catchy. It was stamped Taxco 925 silver and I have never seen another like it … until a year ago when I discovered one in the picture above. My bracelet broke and disappeared long ago, are not even remember where or when. I was delighted to discover the band and immediately above, I even bought a replacement … or if I had thought. However, I forgot that I know have great difficulty with my hands and can no longer deal with clasps on bracelets and necklaces on the locks.
